The president of Barça, Joan Laporta, provided the last minute of the Mirotic case with the Blaugrana club. “We are negotiating because he is going to another team, but we are still negotiating so that we do not have to pay him his salary. The player has his reasons, but an agreement has not yet been reached. You have to respect the player’s position, but we also defend ours.”
Laporta explained that the Montenegrin’s contract was out of reach for the Blaugrana club. “Mirotic’s salary is the result of management by the previous board. It is unsustainable for Barça and that is why it has been decided that he could not be paid.”
