Ball box
1 kg of lard
1 tablespoon of salt in the boiling water
approx. 1/2 l of water
1 dl breadcrumbs
2 dl cream
0.5 dl of syrup
2 eggs
½ to 1 teaspoon each of ginger, paprika, nutmeg
0.5 tsp white pepper
1. Peel the fennel, dice and boil until soft in salted water. Collect the boiling water.
2. Mash the ripe cubes into puree and mix in all the remaining ingredients. Pour the mixture into one large or two small (0.85) greased pans and use a spoon to make indentations on the surface in the traditional way. Sprinkle some breadcrumbs and a few pats of butter on top.
3. Bake at 200 degrees for a good hour and another at 150 degrees.
