At Montessori in Beverwijk the children have been busy practicing for Sint Maarten today. With their self-made lanterns, they visited the classrooms to collect stickers and candy.
At the Montessori school in Beverwijk, learning is more than just listening to the teachers; it is also learning from each other. Today the older students from groups 6, 7 and 8 were given a special task: they took the toddlers from groups 1 and 2 for a lesson in Sint Maarten.
They traveled a circuit through the school together with homemade lanterns. In each class they sang a song and at the end of the circuit they all received a treat.
The older children were allowed to design their own lanterns. For example, one girl made a minion from a plastic bottle and another boy chose a llama. The toddlers could choose a Zaan house or a donkey.
