Meike Suer is the new Head of Marketing at Cologne-based clothing retailer Lanius GmbH. The 41-year-old already took over the area of responsibility last autumn, and the “official handover” took place on April 1, the company announced on Tuesday.
The marketing department of the sustainable fashion brand had previously been headed by Annabelle Homann. The daughter of the founder and CEO Claudia Lanius had also taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2020 and will continue to be responsible in this function “above all for strategic corporate management, personnel management and process optimization”.
In a statement, Homann explained the change at the top of the marketing team: “We have now decided to fill the position because there will be children in the family from September and after my parental leave I will focus on one area, namely strategic corporate management want,” she explained.
Before joining Lanius, Suer worked in the cosmetics industry for 13 years. After working for brands such as Shiseido and L’Oréal, she was most recently responsible for marketing for the Aesop label in Germany and Austria from 2015 to 2021, where, according to her current employer, she was “mainly responsible for establishing and continuously strengthening the brand”.
“I am very much looking forward to taking on the challenge of further increasing Lanius’ brand awareness in a sustainable manner in my new position as Head of Marketing,” said Suer in a statement. Her goal now is to “generate real enthusiasm among customers based on the attractiveness, desirability and authenticity of the Lanius brand – a company with a strong attitude that has pioneered status in the field of sustainable women’s outerwear”. She is particularly pleased “to work in a family business run by women, in which a clear majority of women work,” emphasized Suer.
