Landgoed Bosch en Vaart is looking for volunteers

It is Open Monuments Day on September 9 and 10. On that day, Landgoed Bosch en Vaart in Vries is open to the public. During those days, visitors can orientate themselves on volunteer work on the estate while walking and talking with volunteers and discover whether it is something for you.

Visitors are welcome at the Bosch en Vaart estate on Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is already a permanent club of 7 volunteers, but expansion is always welcome. Even in the winter months, work continues at fixed times. There is always something to do in the colossal greenhouse or the heated Orangerie.

The estate (15 hectares) and the 5 nationally listed buildings have been transferred to the Bosch en Vaart foundation since last year. This foundation works closely with Het Drentse Landschap. They are looking for volunteers with a heart for nature, green fingers are a bonus. All gardens (French and English style) and the park are freely accessible on open days. The public can walk around on their own, but also opt for a guided tour. The tours start on both days at 11:30 and 15:00.

There is a lot to do on the estate during the Heritage Days! On both days, work by Mieke Middel (small ceramic sculptures and bowls) and Saskia de Boer (photographer and poet) will be exhibited. In addition, the beekeeper explains how to keep bees. Or admire the tropical potted plants. Bird lovers can buy nesting boxes that are made by one of the volunteers for the Zoa foundation. This foundation provides emergency aid in 15 countries in South East Asia
