Since 2020, more area classified as open space will be added in Flanders. This concerns land that was originally classified as an industrial or residential area and that is being converted into nature, forest or agricultural land. This is apparent from figures from the Environment department that Flemish Minister for Environment Zuhal Demir (N-VA) communicates.
