A 40-year-old from Canada was arrested for making death threats against the singer.

Lana Del Rey was once again the target of a stalker. A 40-year-old man from Canada was arrested ahead of the singer’s concert in Quebec on July 15 after making death threats against the singer before her performance at the Festival d’été de Québec. Canadian news service CTV News Montreal announced that the man was arrested on Thursday, July 13.

Quebec City police also told CTV News Montreal that they received a complaint as early as June 29 and opened an investigation that eventually led to the 40-year-old New Brunswick man named Denys Mallet. According to police, between January 1, 2022 and July 6, 2023, Mallet “knowingly threatened to cause her death or physical harm” to Lana Del Rey, according to an indictment.

According to the news service, the man from Dieppe, New Brunswick is said to have said that the singer’s life would change forever after her visit to Quebec. He also spoke of threats in the background. An investigation was launched that ultimately led to the arrest of Denys Mallet in New Brunswick. A deportation order was then issued to have the accused transported to Quebec.

In Quebec, Mallet appeared in court on Friday (July 14). Also on July 17, he had to face the prosecution in court for the death threat against Lana Del Rey. He is currently in custody. A final verdict is still pending.
