Lana Del Rey is late for her own show because of her haircut

On Saturday night (June 24th) Lana Del Rey played one of her first performances in three years at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival. However, the 38-year-old singer – whose recent album DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE’S A TUNNEL UNDER OCEAN’S BLVD received critical acclaim – showed up to her set half an hour late – resulting in her show being canceled after just two-thirds of the time organizers had to be canceled so that the Open Air could continue according to schedule.

Lana Del Rey’s explanation for the delay: It took so long to style her hair. A Twitter user shared a video clip of the singer apologizing to fans. As she said to the audience as she took the stage: “I was so damn late that I have to hurry up to perform today. If they turn off the power I’m damn sorry my hair is taking so long to style.” She added, “Love you guys. Let’s keep the set going the way it’s meant to be.”

The US artist played a total of 15 of the planned 20 songs. While she was intoning her track “Video Games”, the microphone was turned off. Del Rey didn’t let that deter him and continued to sing the song and “Summertime Sadness” a cappella with the audience – even when she was already being escorted off the stage by security staff and walked along the festival barrier.

The five songs she was no longer able to play live were “Venice Bitch”, “Diet Mountain Dew”, “Doin’ Time”, “National Anthem” and “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean’s Blvd”.
