The forward was free after the end of his contract with the Dallas Mavericks
Signed for two years and comes from averaging 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds
The Los Angeles Lakers signed forward Christian Wood on Tuesday, a free agent after playing last season with the Dallas Mavericks, with a two-year contract, reported the ‘ESPN’ chain. The 27-year-old Wood’s contract also provides for a player option.
Wood, a native of Long Beach, California, averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds last season with the Dallas Mavericks. He is a dynamic forward, with great power in the paint and, at the same time, three-point shooting ability (37% last year), but he did not quite fit in with Jason Kidd’s Mavericks.
In his career, the forward played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets, in addition to the Mavericks.
