The first World Cup downhill of the season planned for Friday in Lake Louise (Canada) has been postponed at short notice.
As the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced, the race will be postponed to Saturday “due to the current weather situation and the forecast for the rest of the day”.
The start of the race is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. local time (20:30 CEST).
The descent of Lake Louise’s “Olympic Downhill” course is said to be the first World Cup descent of the season.
The two races planned for the beginning of October on the Matterhorn had previously been canceled due to high temperatures. In addition to the downhill, two Super G races were also planned for Saturday and Sunday; the Super G on Saturday has now been canceled in favor of the downhill.
