Laimer transfer was discussed in the Munich dressing room

FC Bayern Munich has already presented five newcomers this summer. A few days before the start of the Bundesliga, a sixth name is still being discussed at the German record champions: Konrad Laimer from competitor RB Leipzig. The Austrian was apparently already a topic in the Bayern cabin.

Does FC Bayern need additional reinforcements in central midfield? Not only external observers like the former Munich professional Stefan Effenberg asked themselves this question, but also the players of the series champion himself. This is reported by “Sport Bild”.

Accordingly, FC Bayern’s courtship for Konrad Laimer’s services was definitely a topic of discussion in the dressing room.

It is clear that head coach Julian Nagelsmann will be absent from the control center for Leon Goretzka at the start of the season due to injury, leaving a gap. The club also sold a midfielder to Leeds United in Marc Roca in the summer. However, it is also clear that Munich are well staffed despite the absence of the national player.

Sabitzer takes place at Bayern Munich

In addition to top dog Joshua Kimmich, Julian Nagelsmann can fall back on new signing Ryan Gravenberch, who was signed by Ajax Amsterdam, and Marcel Sabitzer. International player Jamal Musiala, originally an attacking player, has also filled the position in the center of the field in recent years.

In the Supercup against cup winners RB Leipzig, Nagelsmann relied on Sabitzer, who had fought back after a difficult first year in Munich with good performances in the summer preparation. The signs of the past few months that the Austrian could leave FC Bayern after just one season have now disappeared.

In any case, a transfer from Konrad Laimer would be very expensive for FC Bayern. RB Leipzig are reportedly still insisting on the transfer fee of 30 million euros. According to “Bild”, the Munich bosses have only offered 23 million euros including bonus payments so far, and there will be no increase.

The tendency, so recently also the “kicker”, is therefore for the 25-year-old to stay with the Saxons. There they will part ways next year when his contract expires.
