In 2021, the artist had promised to pay a finder’s reward of half a million dollars, or about 410,000 euros, to the person who would return the French bulldogs stolen from him. Musician’s dogs Koji and Gustav was found when a woman allegedly unrelated to the crime brought the dogs to a police station in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old woman in question, named Jennifer McBridefiled a lawsuit against the artist because he had never received the fee in question.

McBride pleaded not guilty to knowingly receiving stolen property, so he was convicted of complicity in the crime.

According to court documents, that ruling prompted a judge to dismiss McBride’s lawsuit for unearned royalties. The judge had justified his decision that McBride could not, so to speak, have his cake and eat it.

However, the judge mentioned that if McBride were allowed to proceed with the lawsuit, he could benefit from his admitted wrongdoing. According to the report, Lady Gaga called the judge’s statement ridiculous. McBride has 20 days to try to appeal the sentence, but is unlikely to find a way around the judge’s decision.

Lady Gaga’s dogs were stolen while she was out walking her pets by Ryan Fischer was attacked by two men. Fischer was shot in the chest, and the attackers stole two dogs. The third dog ran away and had already been returned to Lady Gaga’s representatives.
