Lady Bitch Ray: Protest against AfD and Nazis at Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s re-election

Frank-Walter Steinmeier was elected Federal President for the second time on Sunday. In the Federal Assembly, he received 1045 out of 1425 valid votes, his second term officially begins on March 19, 2022. Lady Bitch Ray was present, among others. The reason: The rapper, author and presenter, whose real name is Reyhan Şahin, was elected a member of the German Federal Assembly by the Bremen Left Group.
She attracted attention because of her clothes and a message: Şahin wore a white veil with a dress, overknee boots – and a blue bag with the inscription “Nazis out” and #NoAfD. This message should not be understood as criticism of Steinmeier, his SPD party or the office of the Federal President, but as a fundamental statement.

After the election, she posted a series of pictures showing Lady Bitch Ray alongside Chancellor Olaf Scholz. One photo shows AfD politician Alice Weidel looking at Şahin’s bag, and another shows Şahin posing directly behind AfD politician Björn Höcke. In another, her more than 35,000 followers see deputy AfD federal spokeswoman Beatrix von Storch taking a selfie with Şahin and her anti-AfD bag in the background.
Incidentally, von Storch also posted a few selfies and snapshots from election Sunday on her Instagram account. One of her photos shows Lady Bitch Ray from a distance. Von Storch writes grammatically incorrectly: “The white clown, whom the chancellor was just paying his respects to, I had his anti-AfD hate bag taken away by complaining to the presidium. ?”
