Glennis apologized on Friday for the violent incident in supermarket Jumbo in Amsterdam. She says she should have known better.
Berget Lewis, Edsilia Rombley and Candy Dulfer resigned in a statement on Saturday Instagram that Glennis Grace may simply remain a member of the Ladies of Soul. They hope that the singer can attend the concerts in the Ziggo Dome in September, the group says on Instagram. “Glennis has been a valued member of Ladies of Soul from day one and we hope she will be there by then.”
Self-reflection
The statement continued: “After a period of self-reflection, Glennis has shared a personal message in which she sincerely apologizes to everyone involved in the incident at a supermarket. She also takes responsibility for her own share. As Ladies of Soul, we naturally regret the incident and have been reticent in communication out of respect for everyone involved.”
According to the group, it is “a very annoying set of circumstances that should never have happened”. The three say they trust the “thorough investigation” that the judiciary is currently doing.
jumbo riot
Glennis was arrested on February 12 after she became involved in an argument with staff of the local Jumbo in Amsterdam. Glennis is said to have kicked and beaten an employee, but her lawyer previously informed the ANP that his client does not recognize himself in this. The singer is said to have gone to the supermarket after her 15-year-old son came home injured. Then spent as many as three days at the police station.
