The French fashion label Lacoste has been collaborating with well-known brands and celebrities such as Goop, Awake New York, Ufo 361, Margot Tenenbaum and others for some time. Now, however, the brand has teamed up with streaming service Netflix to release a collection inspired by the eight popular series Bridgerton, Stranger Things, Lupine, Money Heist, The Witcher, Sex Education, Shadow & Bone and Elite.
The result is unisex clothing such as polo shirts, hats, sweatshirts, tracksuits and sneakers that combine sport and fashion. The Lacoste crocodile appears on all items but is dressed as the Netflix characters.
For Stranger Things, for example, it transforms into the Demogorgon; for Bridgerton it wears a wig or Otis’ jacket for Sex Education and jumps on a bicycle. Other garments feature an all-Toile de Jouy print, with the disguised crocodiles navigating the streaming platform’s graphics.
“We are very excited about this collaboration, which represents a unique encounter between our two worlds. We share a desire to unite communities from diverse backgrounds and bring them together through a shared passion. The designs of the collaboration reflect our respective codes and expertise,” explains Catherine Spindler, Deputy Managing Director of Lacoste, in a press release.
“We believe that products can be a powerful medium for storytelling, and partnering with Lacoste offers a unique opportunity to bridge the worlds of fashion and entertainment,” said Josh Simon, vice president of consumer products at Netflix. “This collection is an intriguing and creative way for fans to express their love for our stories and characters.”
The Lacoste x Netflix collection is available now at select Lacoste boutiques and via the Lacoste official website and Netflix store. Prices range from 85 euros for a t-shirt to 140 euros for a polo shirt or sweatpants to 200 euros for a hoodie.
