Two stones are needed to make a fire. A phrase that represents a round trip between people, regardless of the hierarchy.
In a herd of horses there is a hierarchy but they do not have a single leader. Who assumes that position is that individual, who at the time of need, is the most suitable to solve it.
Some of its members are more likely due to seniority, wisdom or vitality, regardless of whether it is male or female.
Horses need to survive and for that they line up behind whoever helps them achieve it at that particular moment.
So far about horses… let’s see what happens with people…
When the lack of appreciation settles in a work team, sooner rather than later its best friend appears: demotivation.
Along with it, the hundreds of misunderstandings that we humans as a species are capable of producing, because we have the ability to feel one thing, think another and… say another!
In other words, we can be very inconsistent when we communicate.
Just the opposite of the horses that will generously show us this inconsistency, and perhaps give us clues on how to improve communication in our team so that whoever doesn’t feel valued can clearly state it.
Then, it is the responsibility of each one of the stones (going back to the beginning), to work to achieve the common good. This is supposed to be easy, but in practice it isn’t. We are full of motivating phrases that sound very nice but many times they only remain in a beautiful sound that does not materialize.
What could be missing?
Perhaps it is that it needs to pass through the body, through emotion, through the sensitive afferents of our Vagus nerve, for example, which is in charge of transforming external stimuli into coherent information to build consistent thoughts.
Interaction with horses cultivates mere information, which, if we are open to the experience, transforms it into experience… and it turns out that experiences are usually unforgettable.
