Benzema with an early double strike for Madrid
The game on matchday 21, which was brought forward, experienced a rapid initial phase. Already after seven minutes Real Madrid had everything under control with two goals from Karim Benzema (4th / 7th), but shortly afterwards Bilbao countered and equalized. Oihan Sancet scored from almost 18 meters for Bilbao (10th). Then the game gradually flattened out.
Bilbao’s Iñaki Williams almost equalized in the 60th minute, but shot just wide from the edge of the box. Real managed the game successfully until the final whistle, Eden Hazard missed the preliminary decision from 13 meters against goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala (81st).
