With the hard-fought 1-0 win, Atlético climbs to third place. The Colchoneros got off to a better start after a poor first half and took the lead four minutes after the restart through Koke. The Franjirrojos’ defense was thwarted with a simple one-two between Koke and João Félix.
Vallecano too harmless in the end
The home side then became more and more offensive, while Atlético increasingly withdrew. The Vallecanos created a total of three good chances, but were unable to reward themselves for a courageous performance. Even outnumbered, the Rojiblancos defended their lead to the end.
