Xavi Hernández remains FC Barcelona coach. The Catalans have extended the club legend’s contract by one year until 2025.

FC Barcelona has extended the contract with coach Xavi Hernández by one year until the end of June 2025. The club legend also has an option for another season in his new working paper, as the Catalans announced on Friday evening. The 43-year-old took over the team in November 2021 after previously wearing the Barça jersey as a player for 24 years.

Last season, Xavi led the team with German national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to the Spanish championship and also won the Spanish Super Cup with a win in the Clásico against Real Madrid.

Xavi, the heart of Barca as a midfielder together with his congenial partner Andres Iniesta until 2015, has so far won 60 of 96 games as head coach at “his” club. The Catalans are currently unbeaten and second in La Liga, two points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.
