Major police action around crystal meth lab Nederweert
A major police action today that has to do with a huge crystal meth lab that was rolled up in Nederweert in July. After the discovery of that lab, an investigation followed in which suspects were also identified. Three have been arrested today. During the action, searches were carried out at six locations in Nederweert. More arrests may follow.
100 employees of the police and the Public Prosecution Service were involved in the large-scale action. The lab that was found earlier is the largest crystal meth lab ever found in the Netherlands.

GGD about infection figures
Nationally, the number of positive corona tests has doubled in the past week compared to the week before. But carnival has even caused a true tsunami of infections in our province – and also in Brabant. The number of infections here is more than three times higher compared to the week before carnival, according to the contamination figures published by RIVM today.

Municipal elections Venray
Only eight days until the municipal elections. In L1mburg Central we zoom in this week on some of the 31 municipalities in our province. Today it is Venray’s turn. Since the founding of the CDA, this party has been an integral part of the board in the North Limburg municipality. But will it stay that way? In 2018, the CDA won 9 of the 27 seats, but the party did not make it to the finish line in the college. CDA alderman Jan Loonen left in June after the majority of the city council had lost confidence in him. His CDA colleague Anne Thielen resigned voluntarily.
