GOC Kerkrade is preparing to receive Ukrainians, a thousand participants at the Ukraine demonstration in Geleen and more Limburg news.

Kerkraad convoy with aid supplies at the Ukrainian border
The convoy of Natasia Boom from Kerkrade with three trucks, five cars and two vans with relief supplies arrived at the border between Poland and Ukraine on Thursday morning. In Chelm, in Poland, Ukrainians came to collect the items.

The home base of Natasia Boom is the GOC Parkstad. This is a meeting place and shelter for veterans in Kerkrade. There they prepare for the reception of refugees from Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the number of aid actions for the Ukrainian population is growing, as is the protest against the Russian invasion. Wednesday evening there was a solidarity march in Geleen. Thousands of people expressed their support for the Ukrainian people.

Crowds at Limburg test streets
Crowded at the test streets of the GGD. The GGD Noord-Limburg, for example, had about 1800 test appointments per day. Now that has doubled to about 4000 appointments. The location in Venlo has already been scaled up. 1000 people can go there per day. Because more people are being tested, the number of positive results also increases. Museum Valkenburg open again
After a year and a half, the Valkenburg museum opens its doors again. First they had to close because of the corona pandemic, and when they were open for three weeks, the high water devastated the museum. Almost everything was lost.
