Football superstar Kylian Mbappé wants France’s top club Paris St Germain left again, his desired farewell should take place in the summer.
The 2018 world champion told the club bosses this, according to information from the AFP news agency. The 25-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has recently been repeatedly linked with a transfer to Real Madrid.
Week-long alternating theater
There was already a long alternation between last summer PSGReal and Mbappé, the national player then trained listlessly and gave the impression that he wanted to force his departure.
In the meantime, he only sat in the stands at PSG; the bosses wanted to use this measure to force him to extend his contract, which expires in 2024. After weeks of wrangling, peace was finally made, there was no extension, but Mbappé was back at full throttle on the pitch.
Five championship titles, but a lull in the premier class
Mbappé moved from Monaco to Paris in 2017. In 2022 he extended his contract until 2024, but last summer refused to activate a clause for a further extension.
With PSG, Mbappé has won the French championship five times and the cup three times, but he is still missing a triumph in the Champions League.
Al-Khelaifi still had hope
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently refused to comment on the impending departure of his star striker. “When we both have decided, we will tell you”said the PSG boss on the sidelines of the UEFA Congress in the French capital.
Al-Khelaifi had not yet given up hope of staying: “Of course I want Kylian to stay. For me he is the best player in the world and for me Paris is the best club for Kylian.”
