KV Kortrijk swallows a bitter defeat in the relegation match

KV Kortrijk started the important relegation match like against RWDM: with ball possession and conviction. But that did not result in any goal-ready opportunities.

After half an hour the home team had the match in hand, but Westerlo’s first half counter-punch was a hit. A hard, far cross was worked with a toe into the far corner by Frigan. 0-1, that felt like a cold shower.

Kortrijk responded with finally a shot towards goal. Kadri hit the post. That is also disappointing for a team that has difficulty scoring.

Akpala replaced a disappointing Ojo with Bruno. KVK started the second half a bit hesitantly, but threatened with another good shot from Kadri.
