KV Kortrijk draws against Eupen and can still avoid relegation
If Paris-Roubaix was already exciting, what about the relegation battle in the Jupiler Pro league. Zulte Waregem got a serious blow last night. It lost in extremis at Charleroi 3-2. Essevee can still avoid relegation, but half a miracle with a six out of six has now become a pure necessity.
Relegation or not?
Next week’s match against direct competitor Eupen will be really crucial. KV Kortrijk can wait for the results this weekend. It took one point itself, perhaps the decisive point, namely 0-0 draw against Eupen. If KV Oostende does not win tonight at Sint-Truiden, then Kortrijk is effectively certain of retention. With a score of 0-0, it is not immediately a good match for the Guys. It is not yet a final salvation, but it is still a very important point. Kortrijk keeps Eupen on three points.
Fourth yellow card for D’Haene
Zulte Waregem, now seven points behind Kortrijk, can no longer keep up with the Veekaa. KV Oostende, which plays tonight at Sint-Truiden, still has to get 9 out of 9 to be able to overtake Kortrijk. If KVO does not win tonight, Kortrijk is certain to keep it. Captain Kristof D’Haene took his fourth yellow card. The question is whether he will play at Antwerp with the risk of receiving his fifth yellow card and thus missing his farewell match for his own supporters against Union.
