Living next to the park, that was the concept of the ‘Residential Park’. It is a piece of open space on the border with Harelbeke. In 2009, the then municipal council granted a permit for the subdivision of the plot, but flood maps have since changed. The current municipal council is therefore reversing the old decision.
“The subdivision permit has been approved, but now there are new insights. Not from the municipality but from Flanders who say that building here is no longer wise,” says Alderman for Public Space, Willem Vanwynsberghe.
