Continuing with the commitment of corporate social responsibility, the logistics company donated its services to the Garrahan Foundation in a mission that promotes the value of caring for the environment throughout the country.
Every December 20, the International Day of Human Solidarity is celebrated, as a way of promoting aid as a fundamental universal will for cooperation and the well-being of peoples.
The objective is clear: to reaffirm the commitment throughout the planet in the construction of a space for participation, as well as the application of initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and raising awareness of solidarity as a value.
Since mid-2018, Ksigma has collaborated with the Garrahan Foundation, establishing a fundamental link in this chain: uniting many links behind a single purpose. Thus, it accompanies the recycling and environmental program by playing an important role in the transport of material in ecological and sustainable management.
For this objective to come true, each stage is essential: connecting Ushuaia with Buenos Aires in the task of collecting materials such as paper, plastic caps, bronze keys, X-ray plates, aluminum cans, CDs and DVDs to transform what has been collected. in resources that allow the acquisition of highly complex equipment for the Hospital, the training of the health team and the financing of other programs.
With this objective in view, trips are made by sea and land where each of the legs that make up this large table contributes its grain of sand. Ksigma, as a logistics provider, links the stretch between the Río de la Plata Terminal and the Foundation’s warehouse, providing its own truck for each of the containers.
It is a huge challenge since the schedule of the shift in the port must be coordinated to remove each of the 40-foot containers, transfer them to the Foundation’s warehouse and, in parallel, keep the truck stopped for a large number of hours while the tank is emptied. burden. Each of the Ksigma units transports between 11,000 and 14,000 kilos of merchandise in a cycle that is repeated twelve times a season.
“This awareness action fills us with pride because it is a voluntary action that we carry out so that people change the destination of disposable items and that they come to life, ceasing to be part of the garbage. To achieve this, the unconditional collaboration of companies like Ksigma is essential, which help us make our dreams come true”, explained Viviana Remy, Referent of the Garrahan Foundation Recycling Program in Ushuaia.
With this context, a dream materializes in which multiple organizations redouble their efforts so that assistance does not cease, articulating an enormous chain of favors that has a single purpose: to help those who need it most.
