Barcelona (dpa) – Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche assumes that the Europa League second leg at Camp Nou in Barcelona can become a kind of home game.
“You can see the power our fans have and how they support us. I’m 100 percent convinced that our boys create more excitement and are much louder than the Barça fans!” Krösche told the “Bild-Zeitung”. The Hessians are guests on Thursday evening (9 p.m. / RTL) in the quarter-finals at FC Barcelona and, after the 1-1 draw in the first leg, have good chances of progressing.
The fans can definitely make the difference for Krösche. “Definitely. It shows the players what Eintracht is for a club. It’s extra motivation, creates cohesion and creates a connection. Every player wants and needs these emotions,” said the 41-year-old. Numerous fans had already arrived in Catalonia on Tuesday evening, and the club estimates that there could be around 30,000 on the day of the match.
