Zeist will be the host city for next year The Passion. KRO-NCRV announced this on Thursday. The Bible spectacle is being organized for the fourteenth time and will take place on March 28 in 2024. The broadcaster also announces that presenter Anita Witzier is a reporter for the third time.
Witzier stood next to the large white cross at the town hall in Zeist on Thursday morning to announce the news. The cast members who are in The Passion games will be announced early next year.
“In these times of war and polarization, the Easter story we live in seems… The Passion telling, is becoming increasingly urgent,” says KRO-NCRV chairman Peter Kuipers. “The message of Jesus is timeless: treat others as you would like to be treated, have confidence and exclude no one. This is a message for everyone in our country and we want to pass it on to younger generations.”
The public is also welcome again in 2024 The Passion. The host city for the Ascension Day edition will be announced at a later date. KRO-NCRV works for The Passion together with partners such as the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, the Bartiméus Fund and Kansfonds.
