Krista Tervo accidentally showed a cut throat scar

Moukarinainen made the third longest throw of her career in the World Championship qualification and progressed handsomely to the final. Silja Kosonen did the same trick.

– Huh, huh, sighed the moukari thrower Krista Tervo To the communications manager of the Finnish national athletics team Tapio Nevalainen and showed a cut throat mark after the World Cup qualifying competition.

It wasn’t quite the expected sign after a handsome performance.

– Oh, did I show? It fell a little short. I had to show that I wiped the sweat from my forehead when I feel so relieved, Tervo laughed.

Then to the point.

Tervo raced in Eugene with his second World Championship qualifying attempt of 73.83 and advanced to the final competition. The qualifying limit was 73.50, so the Finn was allowed to leave the last attempt unused.

Friday’s result is the third best of his career. It has gone further this season twice: SE slice 74.40 in Portugal and 74.34 in Turku.

– Before the performance, I thought that we would throw a light 70-meter throw like in training. At least I shouldn’t think that now I’m throwing 75 meters. The performance was relaxed and I have had a very peaceful feeling here in the United States.

Moukarinheittäjä’s adult competition history has had three previous companies fail to qualify. In the European Championships in Berlin 2018, compared to the level of that season, it was a reasonable 65.37 (the season’s best 69.42 and the weakest 63.55) and a year later in the World Championships in Doha 68.25 (the season’s best 70.18 and the weakest 61.20).

Last season, at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Tervo was without a result. The best of the season was 72.92 and in the weakest race it was 65.14.

– After Tokyo, I thought that the next value race must be difficult. I guess things have improved here. I’ve had a nice feeling the whole time on the World Cup trip, I haven’t been stressed, but I’ve been able to focus on what’s important.

Before the World Cup qualifying start, Tervo’s average score in ten races this season is 70.66. The reading takes into account the longest throw of each competition.

In the second women’s qualifying group Silja Kosonen scored a consistent series of 70.68, 72.15 and 71.92.

The longest arc was enough for the final.

Last season’s junior WC and EC gold medalist’s best result of the season is 72.22, so Friday’s performance was strongly positive.

A first-timer in adult competitions Suvi Koskinen threw the series 66.30, 67.98 and 65.96, and did not make it to the finals. This season, Kauhajoki’s bear has set a record of 70.39.

The women’s softball final in the USA will be contested on Sunday at 21:35 Finnish time.

– In a relaxed way, even there. I’m primarily going to get points, Tervo commented.

The points mean the final result in the top eight.

– One day off is a very good recovery time for me.

Tervo has competed quite a lot this season, as Friday’s race was the eleventh start of the season.

– I’ve liked the slightly tighter rhythm, so the competitive spirit is maintained.

Tervo described his feeling on Friday as relieved, but he can also be described as happy.

– I don’t usually ventilate, but now after the performance I couldn’t help but ventilate. After the SE result, I think I just cried.
