The fully packed Salpausselä Ski Stadium gave a resounding applause when Krista Pärmäkoski rose nicely to the podium.

Pärmäkoski was third in the 10-kilometer traditional interim race. The Finnish star received a great deal of encouragement throughout the trip.

– The audience was completely insane. At times, the intervals shouted by the maintenance forces were not even properly heard in the encouragement. On the other hand, then on some snippets, the audience shouted at me for times.

– There was nothing on the few bills, so it felt wonderful when it was quiet. There’s a lot to think about different things in it, and in quiet moments you wake up when the cottage suddenly stops. Then it goes on again, Pärmäkoski laughed.

Saturday’s sprint was an important sensitization race for Pärmäkoski. The condition now seems to be good.

– Yesterday already felt good, although the investment did not meet my expectations. There was a confident mind to compete today. I have shown in the past that I am in good shape here after the races.

For the rest of the season, the direction is good.

– Ruka already had good skis. Then I got sick, and the Tour de Sk had a bit of luck with the starting points. After all, this is a different season than the previous one. Much rockier when skiing realistically for prize pool.

Natalya Nepryaeva seriously challenged the winner of the race Therese Johaugin. The Norwegian no longer seems completely overwhelming, as he and the Russian were only separated by a second in the finish. Pärmäkoski was 16.5 seconds behind Johaug.

– A couple of years ago it was even tighter when I was only 11 seconds away from Johaug. It’s awesome that he’s being challenged and he’s not unbeatable. Frida Karlsson has been able to challenge him, and many others are fighting for podium places.

Pärmäkoski will stay in Lahti to calm down and recharge their batteries before next weekend’s race in Drammen, Norway.

– If I could finally do the laundry and clean the cabin. I thought of taking it in peace before I left for Norway on Thursday.
