Krawietz/Pütz in the final of Stuttgart

The German tennis doubles Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz are in the final of the lawn tournament in Stuttgart. The duo prevailed in the semifinals 7:6 (8:6), 6:7 (12:14), 10:4 against the seeded Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden from India and Australia.

Krawietz and Pütz were unable to use four match points in the tie-break of the second set. A match tiebreak followed. In the final on Sunday (12.00 noon), the two will meet the Olympic champions Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic from Croatia.

“Of course, if you’re in the final of a German tournament, that’s all the nicer,” Krawietz told the German Press Agency a few days ago. Pütz and Krawietz had also reached the final at the clay court tournament in Munich.

“It’s zero point zero load, it’s inspiring, if at all,” said Pütz about the appearances at German tournaments: “There are highlights on the calendar that are marked from the beginning of the year.” Krawietz/Pütz are still waiting for their first tournament win together. Since the beginning of the year, the two have formed a double team.
