Schlotterbeck hits front and back
FSV Mainz 05 has at least taken a small step out of the crisis. The Rheinhessen prevented their seventh defeat in the ninth game of the season at VfL Bochum on Friday evening with a 2-2 (0-1) win after being behind twice. A very late goal from Tom Krauß (90+6) saved the point. Previously, an own goal from Bochum’s Keven Schlotterbeck (59′) helped Mainz make it 1-1 in front of 26,000 spectators. Kevin Stöger (21st/foul penalty) and Schlotterbeck (82nd) scored for VfL.
With three points, Mainz remains bottom of the table, Bochum moved up to relegation place 16, at least for the time being.
