Kramer: First return to Hoffenheim “something special”

Bielefeld (dpa) – Coach Frank Kramer from Arminia Bielefeld returns to Hoffenheim for the first time for a Bundesliga game after nine years with fond memories.

“I took a lot with me back then, both in terms of the memories of the people and the content. That’s why it’s still something special,” said Kramer, looking at the game on Sunday (5:30 p.m. / DAZN).

In December 2012, the then 40-year-old acted as an interim coach in the first division in Kraichgau. With Bielefeld he has only played twice at home against TSG, both times drawing. “Suddenly standing on the line in the Bundesliga was really something very special,” said Kramer: “It was a little bit of a starting signal. That’s why I’m very grateful to TSG and the people involved.”

Nevertheless, of course he wants to score points with Arminia, who have been unbeaten for six games, on Sunday. And also sees an opportunity. Hoffenheim is a “very variable, very dominant and technically really good team. But if such a gambler troupe wants to combine through the ranks, there will be ball wins if we counteract them. And then it has to go quickly to the opposing goal.”
