Kortrijk station project is well on schedule
Then cars can park in a new underground car park with 937 places. And then traffic can also pass through three separate tunnels for buses, cars and cyclists.
The tunnel for road traffic is 250 meters long. It contains 10,000 cubic meters of concrete and 2,000 tons of reinforced steel.
Open site day
Once traffic is allowed through, the public domain will be built above ground. That will take a year. A second phase then follows, with the construction of a station forecourt and the construction of a new station. That phase will last ten years.
Sunday is Open Site Day, when interested parties can visit the underground car park with three floors. Contractor Vuylsteke – Eiffage expects about 2,000 visitors.
