Korpatsch on double dispute: mutually excused

According to the German tennis player, Tamara Korpatsch and her playing partner Harmony Tan have settled their differences about the canceled doubles at the classic lawn in Wimbledon.

Korpatsch had sharply criticized Tan after their brief withdrawal on Wednesday. The French have clarified their injury “and we have already apologized to each other,” Korpatsch wrote on Instagram in English.

The 27-year-old from Kaltenkirchen deleted her allegations from the previous day. In it, Korpatsch was “very sad, disappointed and also very angry” and complained that Tan only wrote to her an hour before the planned first-round game. “I ask you not to write any nasty comments to her,” she now emphasized. “I don’t want her to be offended.”

Tan defeated superstar Serena Williams of the USA in more than three hours and three sets in singles on Tuesday night. On Wednesday she canceled the doubles due to injury. In singles, Korpatsch was eliminated in the first round against Briton Heather Watson.
