The korfball players of Groen Geel will also play at the highest level next season. Dico Dik’s team won 16-15 against Dalto and thus secured their position in the Korfball League. Last week the first play-down game was won in Driebergen (17-23).
At halftime, Green Yellow seemed to be on roses, as the team took the lead 7-4. In the second half, the North Hollanders started badly and scored with difficulty. The visitors from Driebergen went on and on. With ten minutes to play it was 11-14 and Green Yellow had to go.
Exciting final phase
In the last minutes of the game, Groen Geel closed the gap and with four minutes left it was 15-15. That score remained on the scoreboard until the last minute. With 28 seconds left, Groen Geel’s Thomas Schagen became the man of the match. He hit and made for a 16-15 final score.
