KZ has extended the contract of coach Tim Bakker by one year. The words spoken by the Koogers to build a permanent staff are thus converted into deeds. Assistant Melinda Fennema also remains loyal to the club for longer.
Bakker succeeded Dennis Doves as head coach at KZ last summer. The club then expressed the ambition to compete for the prizes again within three years. “Tim fits perfectly into our picture to build a new team that will compete for the prizes again within three years,” the club said when he was appointed.
With the 38-year-old former player at the helm, the results are excellent. The team is in the championship group and is in fourth place with four points.
Yesterday, the team narrowly lost to DOS’46 19-18.
