More than a hundred demonstrators – mainly Muslims – gathered in the city center of Arnhem on Saturday afternoon for a counteraction against the announced Koran burning that would take place at 2 p.m. They were ordered by the police to leave Jansplein. But the counter-protesters ignored that.
Before the situation got out of hand, Wagensveld was seen by counter-protesters on the corner of the square in Arnhem. About 25 of them walked up to the Pegida leader, and the police quickly intervened. The police have made several arrests.
