Both Evert Kooijman and Roy Loch have extended their expiring contracts with Volendam. Both circle players choose to stay with the North Holland handball club for at least one more year.
The 27-year-old Kooijman is also an international for Orange and has played 29 international matches to date. Two years ago, Kooijman came over from Achilles Bocholt. “I am very happy that I took that step. I believe that Volendam is one of the top three clubs in the BENE-League and that we can compete for prizes. Everything is well organized here and I really feel at home here” , said Kooijman in a first reaction to his contract extension.
Stormy development
In addition to Kooijman, the team of trainer Geert Hinskans can therefore also use Roy Loch for at least another year. The twenty-year-old talent only started playing handball six years ago, but has developed rapidly in a short time. The circle player will have to compete with Kooijman and Jeroen Roefs. “My goal is to become an important starting player for the team. I want to keep growing and keep challenging myself. My goal is to prove that I’m at least as good as Evert and Jeroen, two good circles in our team,” says Loch .
With the recording of Loch and Kooijman, the selection of Volendam seems almost complete. Previously, the contracts of Jelmer de Vries and the brothers Jeroen and Tim Roefs were extended. In addition, former international Ephrahim Jerry was also recruited.
