Olav Kooij has won the ZLM Tour. The Jumbo-Visma rider also won the final stage.
It was Kooij’s third win this week.
North Brabant
Just like on Saturday, the riders rode around in North Brabant. The riders had to cover 168 kilometers between Made and Rijsbergen. Five Dutchmen opted for the attack and together formed the leading group of the day. They managed to get a few minutes ahead of each other, but knew it would be difficult to hold out against the peloton, where the pace was good.
fall
In pursuit of the leading group, the pace increased more and more. It caused a crash at fifteen kilometers from the finish. Elia Viviani was also involved in the fall that prevented him from sprinting. At more than one kilometer from the finish, the front runners were caught up, making it a bunch sprint for the fifth time this week.
sweaters
In this Alexander Salby seemed to surprise, but in the last meters he was passed by Kooij who pushed his wheel over the line first. Sam Welsford finished third in the stage. Kooij became the radiant center of Madebergen. In addition to the stage victory, he also received the jerseys that belong to the win in the general classification, the points classification and the youth classification.
