The US clothing group Kontoor Brands Inc. has given Michael Karapetian additional responsibilities. On Wednesday, the parent company of denim brands Wrangler and Lee announced the financial expert’s promotion to vice president of corporate development, strategy, and investor relations.
Karapetian joined Kontoor Brands in 2020 as Director of Corporate Finance after career positions at well-known investment firms such as Balyasny Asset Management (BAM), Citadel and Merrill Lynch. Until his area of responsibility was expanded, he held the position of Vice President of Corporate Development.
Chief Financial Officer Joe Alkire, who remains Karapetian’s direct manager, explained the promotion: “He has made significant contributions since joining the company and we are confident that he will remain a valuable partner and leader in the organization “will help drive the next phase of Kontoor’s value creation journey,” the CFO said in a statement.
