Rising costs and extra rules have reversed the King’s Day party at the Parade in Den Bosch, RTL News reports. According to one of the organizing entrepreneurs, the festival is no longer profitable and so the plug was pulled out.

“The last two years we have organized the party with King’s Day,” says entrepreneur Otto van den Groenendaal of Stadsherberg ‘t Pumpke in Den Bosch RTL News. “But it is no longer profitable. We even have to put it, so we stop.”

Not the only one
Den Bosch is therefore not the only city in our country where King’s Day parties die due to increasing costs. This kind of festivities also died in Hoorn, Purmerend, Roermond and Almere.

Catering economist Jos Klerx of Rabobank recognizes the story of the Bossche entrepreneur. He also sees that the costs for security, for example, have risen by 50 percent in the last three years. “Ideally, you earn back your costs through the beer, but you will not increase that to 6 euros per glass.”

It is mainly the smaller -scale parties, such as those in Den Bosch, who suffer from the rising costs. According to Klerx, multi -day events where you have to pay an entrance fee will still get out of the costs.
