When King Willem-Alexander visits Meppel on Wednesday, it will not only be behind closed doors. He also takes some time for the public on the sidelines.
The king comes to Meppel to visit the Port of Zwolle, of which the port of Meppel is part. He visits two companies: boat maker Alumax and Fieldlab Circulair Ondernemen, where they try to combat food waste. During the working visit, he will receive an explanation about the role of hydrogen, sustainable construction and the reuse of materials resulting from the demolition of buildings and cargo ships.
But in addition to visiting these companies, Willem-Alexander also takes time for fans. He does this near the Galgenkampsbrug. He arrives there by water taxi, from Alumax. There will be a short public moment with the king around 2:30 PM. He then goes to the field lab there.
Anyone who is unable to attend the public event will have another chance later this year. On April 27 he celebrates King’s Day in Emmen.
