Did you know that 12 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year?

The global amount of plastic waste continues to grow, and some of the largest manufacturers do not manage waste effectively: over 300 million tons of plastic are produced every year for a variety of uses. At least 12 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, making up 80% of all marine debris from surface waters to deep-sea sediments.

Plastic pollution threatens food safety and quality, human health, coastal tourism and contributes to climate change.

Komrads wants to address this issue: that’s why we’re introducing our brand new OCNS [oceans] collection before. Sneaker made of plastic from the sea.

The SeaqualR initiative is a community of individuals, organizations and companies working together to clean up our oceans, raise awareness of the problem of marine litter and highlight those who are helping to combat it. SeaqualR is one of the most certified eco-friendly fibers in the world. It is a high quality recycled polyester yarn made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles and plastic collected from the sea, helping to conserve natural resources and reduce water pollution on our planet.

The sole is made from recycled rubber and the upper and lining of the sneakers are made from Seaqual yarn.

Style and sustainability have never gone together better!
