L’Equipe reports
With a market value increase of 25 million euros in 2022, Eintracht Frankfurt’s World Cup driver Randal Kolo Muani was one of the shooting stars in the Bundesliga. The centre-forward, who moved to SGE on a free transfer in the summer and has signed a contract until 2027, has scored five goals and ten assists in 14 league games this season, making him the second-best scorer in the German top flight. These strong performances have apparently drawn the attention of national and international competitors.
As the French newspaper “L’Equipereported, the 24-year-old is arousing the interest of Manchester United for this winter, but especially of FC Bayern for the coming summer. The Red Devils, who are looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, are said to be preparing an offer of over €60m to secure his services from the Frenchman in January. That sum would come close to that of Frankfurt’s record departure of Luka Jović, who joined Real Madrid for €63m in 2019/20.

It is said that Man United’s promotion does not leave Kolo Muani indifferent, but that the attacker would rather stay in Germany. This calls the people of Munich onto the scene, who have been following Kolo Muani’s development for a long time. Although the record champions have not yet planned an offer, their interest is said to have been communicated to those around the SBU professionals. Before the season, Bayern Munich had to mourn the departure of top striker Robert Lewandowski, in return the 17-year-old offensive talent Mathys Tel was signed, who is to be developed for the future. After Lewandowski left, veteran Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who is the second-best scorer in the team with eleven goals, flourished. His working paper ends as the only one in the squad at the end of the season.
“L’Équipe”: Farewell to Kolo Muani at Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer likely
According to the report, the Frankfurters are aware that it will be complicated to keep Kolo Muani for the long term – even if his consulting agency recently announced in the “Sport Bild” that the plan was to “stay for another year”. According to “L’Équipe”, it is more likely that he will stay with the Hessians until the summer in view of their entry into the round of 16 of the Champions League and then look for a new challenge.
Sports director Markus Krösche recently expressed his surprise at “how quickly Randal got used to the intensity and speed of the game” in Frankfurt. His market value has more than doubled in the SGE dress from 16 million to 37 million euros, which puts him among the top 20 most valuable players in the Bundesliga. “It was clear to me that it would work and that he would prevail. Because the defenders are also physically strong in the French league, similar to the Bundesliga or Premier League. It was only a matter of time. And he amazed me,” Krösche admitted.
