Kohlschreiber fails, Otte surprised

Tennis pro Oscar Otte has reached the second round of the prestigious Masters in Indian Wells.

In his opening match, the man from Cologne defeated Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6:2, 1:6, 6:3 and now meets Hubert Hurkacz from Poland, who is eleventh seeded. Otte is making his debut at the tournament in Indian Wells, which is worth more than eight million dollars.

Philipp Kohlschreiber, on the other hand, failed in his opening match. The 38-year-old veteran from Augsburg lost to Finn Emil Ruusuvuori 3:6, 3:6.

In addition to Otte, Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (Hamburg / No. 3) is already in the second round after a bye.
