Miami (AP) – Tennis professional Dominik Koepfer was eliminated from the Masters in Miami in the first round. The 27-year-old from Furtwangen lost 7: 6 (10: 8), 4: 6, 4: 6 against Mackanzie McDonald from the USA.
Of the five Germans in the main draw, Koepfer is the first to be eliminated. Angelique Kerber is therefore the only German who is still involved in the Miami Open, which is endowed with around 8.6 million US dollars. After a bye in the first round of the hard court tournament, the German number one meets the former world number one Naomi Osaka. The Japanese won against Astra Sharma of New Zealand 6-3, 6-4.
