Koen Darras climbs highest peak on every continent

Koen Darras : “It’s a childhood dream that I’ve been chasing for a while. I’m in love with the mountains. There’s nothing more beautiful than chasing your dreams and climbing the highest mountain on all continents. We want to inspire five people with us. If you can dream it, you can make it, we’re super excited.”

Normally Koen would first climb Mount Elbrus in Russia, but due to the war in Ukraine, that has become Mont Blanc. It does not belong to the 7 summits. The expedition will last almost a month, because first a three-country tour of 170 km around the mountain is on the program. “Actually it’s not the real climbing season yet. We are a little early, the mountain huts are not open yet. The Mont Blanc is easy on paper but the summit push is 3 pm. You get up in the afternoon and are only at 4 o’clock” back in the morning. It will be a very physical challenge in any case.”

Koen wants to conquer the seven summits in about three years. In October, the Aconcagua in the Andes Mountains awaits. Kilimanjaro and the 8848 meter high Mount Everest will follow later. “We have been preparing for eight months. It is not only physically but also mentally. The weather also has to be right. We’ll see where we end up.”

The mountain adventures of Koen and his climbing buddies can be followed on his instagram account.
