Knokke in the lead after a win against Winkel

Both Knokke and Winkel Sport played themselves in the spotlight again after the winter break in the first national. In other words, Knokke – Winkel was the match of the metamorphosis. In Knokke they owe their resurrection mainly to Zakari Junior Lambo, and the 23-year-old attacker immediately made himself noticed in this match. With a fantastic shot he put the 1-0 on the board after seven minutes. Just before half time, however, Hoogte erased that lead, heading in the equalizer after a corner.

It went fast in the second half. Lambo secured the reassuring lead for Knokke with two goals in three minutes. Winkel didn’t give up right away, though. Waeghe, ex-Knokke, of course, scored the 3-2 at the far post. Two minutes before the end, Knokke struck one last time. Binst hit the 4-2 hard, and with that also put the final score on the board. With one game to go, at Heist, Knokke has all the trumps to start the play-offs as leader.
