On the beaches of Knokke, Duinbergen and Heist, Knokke-Heist rents around 3,000 locations to private individuals every year. They can set up their own beach cabin from mid -March to the end of September. Depending on the location, a tenant pays between 230 and 400 euros for a season.
But in practice, many of those cabins appear to be rented out, often at much higher amounts. “That is not the intention,” says tourism ships Bert De Brabandere.
